When you become a Friend of the Library, you are joining a community of library lovers and supporting free and enriching programs. You can become a Friend either by volunteering within a HPLD library or by making a monetary donation. 

To best serve our community, HPLD Friends & Foundation simplified Friend Membership levels and benefits on April 1st, 2026.

$25 - $249 in donated funds

1-7 hours of volunteer time

$250 and up in donated funds

7+ hours of volunteer time

  • 15% of in The Shop (annually)

  • Donor Discount for Foundation Fundraiser when available​

Director's Circle

We use the national value of a volunteer's hour from the Independent Sector to quantify the value of our volunteer's time.
Though we are calculating your Friends membership with this value, please note that the time you volunteer with a charitable organization is not tax deductible. Please consult your tax professional for more information.

Memberships are valid for one year. Memberships do not auto-renew. All monetary contributions to the High Plains Library District Friends & Foundation are tax-deductible to the extent provided by law.
