2025 Innovation Luncheon Recap
Thank you for joining us to raise funds for workforce development at HPLD!

On October 2nd, our Friends raised a gross total $20,125 in support of workforce development programs across the High Plains Library District. The investment directly impacts the lives of learners of all ages—helping students gain the skills they need to enter the workforce and supporting adults in earning certifications, advancing careers, and enriching their lives.
At the Luncheon, guests interacted with We Will Build It Better, an innovative elementary curriculum providing 12–15 hours of gamified content for first through fifth graders. This all-inclusive, industry-designed and educator-developed program places students in a work-like STEAM environment where creativity, collaboration, and problem-solving thrive. Students learn to connect classroom experiences with real-world careers from teamwork with classmates to understanding the tools and technology that build their communities. HPLD Friends & Foundation fully funded We Will Build It Better and it is now available to all patrons. Programming for the toolkit is currently being developed.
2024 and 2025's Innovation Luncheon funds support the success and sustainability of HPLD's upcoming Mobile Workforce Vehicle. The vehicle is a modern mobile education center that will travel to rural Weld County communities and deliver tailored workforce resources, training, and expertise in partnership with Employment Services of Weld County (ESWC). This project was made possible thanks to the Weld Trust’s Flagship Grant, and by contributions from patrons like you.
Together, we are building stronger communities and creating lifelong opportunities for learning and growth.
Thank you for believing in the power of libraries to transform lives.

Funding Highlight: Sensory Garden
Eaton Public Library is now hosting a fairy village.
The Eaton Public Library has cultivated a new way to learn, explore, and connect—with the creation of a Sensory Garden! This inclusive outdoor space invites visitors of all ages and abilities to engage their senses through touch, smell, sight, and sound. Designed to promote relaxation, curiosity, and creativity, the garden serves as both a peaceful retreat and a hands-on learning environment for families, students, and community members. Library Director Amber Greene said, "We’re thrilled to share that our community absolutely loves the new sensory garden. It has quickly become a beloved space for families to explore, relax, and connect with nature."
The Sensory Garden was made possible through the Board Designated Funds at HPLD Friends & Foundation.
